Teaching

In her teaching, Dr. Weinberg leverages her background as a feminist STS scholar by guiding her students to examine how power relations shape the design, impact, and reception of technology.  She teaches students to think of technological innovations as sites where historical, social, and political forces converge, producing a range of concerns about how these innovations will impact social life. Students in her courses learn to engage thoughtfully and responsibly with one another, to feel empowered in the classroom, and to confront the social and ethical implications of technology not as a given reality, but as a problematic to be worked on by all. Ultimately, her goal is for students to co-theorize ways to change how technologies are imagined and implemented in order to create a more just world.
